About

RISD · BFA Photography
I came to photography from painting, looking for something more grounded — a reason to wander, look, and inquire. What I found instead was a tension I couldn't resolve: the documentary impulse to let the world author the image, and the directorial impulse to stage what the self needs to say. I no longer treat those as opposites. My work sits at the boundary between what is seen and what is projected.
In practice, that means editorial and documentary stories, portraiture, and sequenced bodies of work — made with the same attention whether the project is personal or commissioned. I'm currently based in San Francisco, and open to assignments, collaborations, and long-form stories.
